Do you ever find yourself just feeling like you are looking at a mirror, and all you can feel and see is your own reflection?
But what if we could see beyond the mirror framing ourselves? What would we find?
Would we find reality or fantasy? How do we get rid of the constant reflection of ourselves? and how do we replace it with the reflection of Christ?
If our lives are centered around Him, how do we clense ourselves of constant self awarness...
I think of Tenth Avenue North's Lyrics at this moment:
From their song: YOU ARE Chorus Lyrics:
I give You all of me for all You are
Here I am
Take me apart
Take me apart....
All I am I want to lay down at Your feet
...and then I hear the lyrics from Jars of Clay's song "I need You"..the chorus rings clear "I need You, I need You, I need You, You're all I'm living for...
I've heard some people quote that they have too much of the world in them to enjoy Christ.. .And I know that for many, this is true. But I think for even those of us who live distanced from the world and its offers, we are hindred by the thoughts of ourselves, or the mirror that we are looking through. You see the world, people, sin, the fall, - it takes it toll on everyone. And there are times for all of us, when whatever is reflecting off our mirror has caused us to not see the big picture, or not to feel fresh inside...at these times we must ask to be renewed.
Don't let people, places, things, situations, take your Joy or your focus from your relationship with Christ ...Whatever it is, whether relationships, influences, things, habbits, if they cause you to see a bigger reflection of yourself, I will warn you, you should reconsider whatever it is...And when you are hit with an answer, act. Don't let it go, act. Cause it will only get worse. Till perhaps all there is left, is the imagine of self, and you find yourself tied down into a secular/humanistic: worldview...it can happen...without you even realizing it...You see we are supposed to be lights in the world, our oil is of God, to keep us burning bright...but if we continue to let people or things, blow at our flame, and do not ever refill our oil, what will come of us? Darkness can never put out the Light of Christ. But if we quit baring our lamps for Christ, we can lose ourselves in the night. What shall lead us in the end times? Those will have to be retaught, those will have to go and find the light, and healthy worldview that they have lost, but beware there is a time when the clock strikes midnight, the door closes, and the wedding feast officaly begins...
Blessed is the man, the man who does not walk
In the counsel of the ungodly: blessed is that man.
He who rejects the way, rejects the way of sin
And who turns away from scoffing: blessed is that man.
But his delight, by day and night,
Is the law of God Almighty. ( now in Christ)
He is like a tree, a tree that flourishes,
Being planted by the water: blessed is that man.
He will bring forth fruit, his leaf will wither not,
For in all he does he prospers: blessed is the man.
For his delight by day and night,
Is the law of God Almighty. ( now in Christ)
The ungodly are not so, for they are like the chaff
Which the wind blows clean away: he ungodly are not so.
The ungodly will not stand, upon the judgment day
Nor belong to God's own people: The ungodly will not stand.
But God knows the way of righteous men
And ungodly ways will perish.
Pslam 1: 1-6
Fellow Believers look to Christ...and let us replace our mirrors, with the cross of Christ. So that whenever we look we are reminded, we are not our own...and Christ has saved us from being slaves to ourselves...There is joy for the person who dwells upon Him.
